Little Character Christmas Card 2 (CLA402b)

Print out a PDF if you would like to see the supplies for this card or keep a reminder

My husband just left to buy groceries....voluntarily...My son got up one day early (I meant to say that) and took the garbage out (isn't supposed to go out til tomorrow)...yesterday he shoveled snow...and my youngest son washed dishes and took a shower!...it's the twilight zone!  I'm capturing this moment...embedding it in my brain...savoring the taste...burning it on my eyeballs....oh happy day!!  :P  These are the things we remember for all "the days of our lives!"

And...here is the view outside of my workroom! Can you believe it?  Yes that is a church.
I'm feeling especially blessed today.

Now all I need to do to do the snoopy dance is eat chocolate cake and drink milk, while coloring and watching "Moonstruck".  Yup...

I kind of like the inside of this card and wish I had a huge Merry Christmas stamp for it...I would have made this the front of the card. It looks more fun and easier! (right Marian??) Why do I make things so complicated  (there's a song about that)

And...here is a video.  I just had to talk forever and point out every last thing so it's stupid long (60min)
I've learned however, that if I try to keep it short and not talk too much it takes 2 days to make...go figure!  I watched someone else's video that lasts 12 min, zero talking, double speed and with great music...loved it.  ...sigh. I'm thinking 40 min.  has got to be tops, you know?  Definitely shows you how to color a pot with a hedgehog in it...just what everyone wanted to know!  Ha!

Card Tutorial #3 - Little Character Christmas- Card 1 (CLA402a)

Would you like to print out the supply list for this card?  Sometimes having a binder full of ideas gets your inspiration going, and next thing you know...you taking your stamping supplies out!

I also created a PDF for the "Season's Greetings" top white mat of the card.  This is because I didn't feel like I had a greeting stamp that "looked" like the Christmas bird.  There are four correctly sized mats to cut out and use if you can't find something suitable either.

I'm dying to make an inchie card all of a sudden!  What the Hey? - Why is that?  I think it's because I suddenly realized I'm thrilled to be able to do what I am doing right now.  I've always thought my happiest life would be realized when I was back to owning a store "where I belong".  It's taken me almost 3 years to feel that I could be happy being only online, and being electronic.  Wanting to do an inchie card and looking forward to making a video and a blog about it, is a big step.  Making a decision to fall in love with it, rather than having an instant attraction - is definitely a factor here.  Still don't like facebook, and I can't bring myself to twitter or link...but you got to start somewhere!

So as part of my genius plan for world cardmaking domination, I've created a video to go with this card, a printable supply list and a pdf for your printing pleasure.  I've also been creating a website that will allow you to purchase any supplies you might need to complete this card!  We are hopefully only 2 or three days away from launching it.  It's not large...but as the video library grows and I add more and more product to the website, I'm hoping that I can create a fun online place to be for hanging out with our mutual hobby!  :)

Card Tutorial #2 Stampscapes for Winter (CLA401)

I am so happy to be able to have the time and the capacity to be blogging, cardmaking and communicating again!  This feels Good! I'm learning so much and trying to reach beyond the 2 things that I knew and now can say with confidence....I know three things!!  Awesome!
My last card was chosen because I had prepped for a class that I had never run!  Bummer right?  I hope to make videos of the matching cards as soon as possible.
I chose Stampscapes this time because I love them!  I went to the Stampscapes website to get caught up and see whats new only to find.....Holy Cow!! Things are hopping over there.  There are over 60 videos made by the Owner of Stampscapes, Kevin Nakagawa.  You've got to check those out. A friend of mine had mentioned he had begun tutorials starting from a beginner's perspective and beyond.  I subscribed immediately and am looking forward to watching them all!  Cool!  Also...He has created a new line of stamps!  More fun ahead!
Since starting up again, I've been asked if classes are in the future.  The short answer is yes!  However, I would like to dedicate some time to feeling comfortable with making videos, and nailing down and feeling comfortable with our new website that has not been launched yet.
In the meantime, please enjoy my latest video.  My first one was 52 minutes, and I'm happy to say, I have managed to stop the flow at 30min...  not so easy with a mouth like mine!

Card Tutorial #1 Vintage Butterflies (CLA400b)

I'm typing here on my couch trying to decide the best way to explain how I've ended up back in the blogger experience again.  I have a headache!  I've just spent the last three weeks learning how to make a video with the equipment I have (had to buy a new ipad...not that I'm complaining! very pretty!), learning how to export the video, upgrade the video, thumbnail it, post it, get a YouTube Channel...yell at the world...you know...I need more brains.  The art cover on my YouTube channel has zero appeal...for pete's sake!  I don't even know if I'm up to having the "comments" option turned on!  My hand was shaking hovering over the button where you decide if the video is private or public!  Arggghh!
The months before that I spent looking for store space to purchase and renovate.  What a great idea!...until you find out there are a few factors like parking, permissions, locations, derelict buildings!...I'll find one... one of theses days... and then I'll go back to doing what I feel comfortable doing...surrounding myself with stamps, paper, embellishments and rolling around in them occasionally!  (I've never done that!...I swear!)
So until I become a store owner again, I think I'll work on learning how to be an online paper person...videos, blogging, selling online (that one is going to take some more work....again - lack of brain capacity!)...and all of that.  You can watch with an objective eye...commenting once and a while and letting me know what to do next.
I don't think I can be a professional objective person. It's pretty much going to all hang out (discreetly of course).  I've been watching other videos and blogs trying to see what one should act like while taping.  But then you start taping, and you realize that your mouth just starts filling in all the blanks without permission and your video turns into a long monologue with too many details.  I did the whole thing more than once, and edited it trying to make myself sound cool...but it didn't work!  I'm afraid that's how they will be!  Be myself right??   yeah...hmmmm....I think people just say that because they know there is only so much you can do to "upgrade" your public image before the cracks start showing!  (chuckle)...there you are!
So I'm going to take a moment to see if I can
figure out how to embed my video into this blog and then we'll see if it all works. I've been learning how to make pdf recipes in a different format called "Pages"...so I'll add that when I'm satisfied I can churn that out properly.
     Check this out!
